First Reading: ACTS 14:5-18

There was an attempt in Iconium by both the Gentiles and the Jews, together with their leaders, to attack and stone Paul and Barnabas.

当外邦人和犹太人连同他们的官长蓄意侮辱保禄和巴尔纳伯，和用石头砸死他们的时候，

 

They realized it, and fled to the Lycaonian cities of Lystra and Derbe and to the surrounding countryside, where they continued to proclaim the Good News.

保禄和巴尔纳伯一听说，就逃往吕考尼雅的吕斯特辣、德尔贝两座城和周围的地方去了，在那里传扬福音。

 

At Lystra there was a crippled man, lame from birth, who had never walked.

在吕斯特辣有一个人患软脚病，常坐着，由母胎中即是跛子，总没有行走过。

 

He listened to Paul speaking, who looked intently at him, saw that he had the faith to be healed, and called out in a loud voice, "Stand up straight on your feet." He jumped up and began to walk about.

这人听保禄讲道；保禄注目看他，见他有信心，可得痊愈，便大声说道：“直直地站起来！”这人遂跳起来行走。

 

When the crowds saw what Paul had done, they cried out in Lycaonian, "The gods have come down to us in human form."

群众看见保禄所行的，就大声用吕考尼雅话说：“神取了人形，降到我们这里了！”

 

They called Barnabas "Zeus" and Paul "Hermes," because he was the chief speaker.

他们遂称巴尔纳伯为则乌斯，称保禄为赫尔默斯，因为他是主要发言人。

 

And the priest of Zeus, whose temple was at the entrance to the city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, for he together with the people intended to offer sacrifice.

在城关的则乌斯的司祭，就带着公牛与花圈来到大门前，要同群众一起献祭。

 

The Apostles Barnabas and Paul tore their garments when they heard this and rushed out into the crowd, shouting, "Men, why are you doing this?

巴尔纳伯和保禄宗徒听说这事，就撕裂了自己的衣服，跑到群众中，喊着，说道：“人哪！你们这是作什么？

 

We are of the same nature as you, human beings. We proclaim to you good news that you should turn from these idols to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea and all that is in them.

我们也是人啊！与你们有同样的性情；我们只是给你们传扬福音，为叫你们离开这虚无之物，归依生活的天主，是他创造了天地海洋和其中的一切。

 

In past generations he allowed all Gentiles to go their own ways; yet, in bestowing his goodness, he did not leave himself without witness, for he gave you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, and filled you with nourishment and gladness for your hearts."

他在过去的世代，容忍了万民各行其道；但他并不是没有以善行为自己作证，他从天上给你们赐了雨和结实的季节，以食物和喜乐充满你们的心。”

 

Even with these words, they scarcely restrained the crowds from offering sacrifice to them.

说了这些话，才算阻住了群众，没有向他们献祭。

【答】：上主，光荣不要归于我们，而要归于你的圣名。

 

Not to us, O LORD, not to us but to your name give glory because of your mercy, because of your truth. Why should the pagans say, "Where is their God?"

领：上主，光荣不要归于我们，不要归于我们！只愿光荣完全归于你的圣名，那是为了你的慈爱，为了你的忠诚。为什么让外邦人常说：他们的天主在何处居住？

 

R. Not to us, O Lord, but to your name give the glory.

【答】：上主，光荣不要归于我们，而要归于你的圣名。

 

Our God is in heaven; whatever he wills, he does. Their idols are silver and gold, the handiwork of men.

领：我们的天主在天上居住，他创造了所喜爱的万物。外邦人的偶像无非金银，不过是人手中的制造品。

 

R. Not to us, O Lord, but to your name give the glory.

【答】：上主，光荣不要归于我们，而要归于你的圣名。

 

May you be blessed by the LORD, who made heaven and earth. Heaven is the heaven of the LORD, but the earth he has given to the children of men.

领：愿你们蒙受上主的祝福，他是上天下地的造化主！苍天确实是上主的苍天，上主给世人赏赐了尘寰。

 

R. Not to us, O Lord, but to your name give the glory.

【答】：上主，光荣不要归于我们，而要归于你的圣名。

 

Gospel JN 14:21-26

福音（父所要派遣来的护慰者，必要教训你们一切。）

恭读圣若望福音 14:21-26

 

Jesus said to his disciples: "Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. Whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him."

那时，耶稣对门徒说：“接受我的命令而遵守的，便是爱我的人。谁爱我，我父也必爱他，我也要爱他，并将我自己显示给他。”

 

Judas, not the Iscariot, said to him, "Master, then what happened that you will reveal yourself to us and not to the world?"

犹达斯 ── 不是那个依斯加略人 ── 遂问他说：“主，究竟为了什么你要将你自己显示给我们，而不显示给世界呢？”

 

Jesus answered and said to him, "Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him.

耶稣回答说：“谁爱我，必遵守我的话，我父也必爱他，我们要到他那里去，并要在他那里作我们的住所；

 

Whoever does not love me does not keep my words; yet the word you hear is not mine but that of the Father who sent me. "

那不爱我的，就不遵守我的话；你们所听到的话，并不是我的，而是派遣我来的父的话。

 

I have told you this while I am with you. The Advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name he will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you."

我还与你们同在的时候，给你们讲论了这些事；但那护慰者，就是父因我的名所要派遣来的圣神，他必要教训你们一切，也要使你们想起，我对你们所说的一切。”
