First Reading: ROM 1:16-25

读经一（人们虽然认识了天主，却没有以他为天主而予以光荣。）

恭读圣保禄宗徒致罗马人书 1:16-25

 

Brothers and sisters: I am not ashamed of the Gospel. It is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: for Jew first, and then Greek.

弟兄们：我决不以福音为耻，因为福音正是天主的德能，为使一切有信仰的人获得救恩，先使犹太人，后使希腊人。

 

For in it is revealed the righteousness of God from faith to faith; as it is written, "The one who is righteous by faith will live."

因为福音启示了天主所施行的正义，这正义是源于信德，而又归于信德，正如经上所载：“义人因信德而生活。”

 

The wrath of God is indeed being revealed from heaven against every impiety and wickedness of those who suppress the truth by their wickedness.

原来天主的忿怒，从天上显露在人们的各种不敬与不义上，是他们以不义抑制了真理，

 

For what can be known about God is evident to them, because God made it evident to them.

因为认识天主为他们是很明显的事，原来天主已将自己显示给他们了。

 

Ever since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity have been able to be understood and perceived in what he has made.

其实，自从天主创世以来，他那看不见的美善，即他永远的大能和他为神的本性，都可凭他所造的万物，辨认洞察出来，

 

As a result, they have no excuse; for although they knew God they did not accord him glory as God or give him thanks.

以致人无可推诿。他们虽然认识了天主，却没有以他为天主而光荣或感谢他，

 

Instead, they became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless minds were darkened. While claiming to be wise, they became fools

而他们所思所想的，反成了荒谬绝伦的；他们冥顽不灵的心陷入了黑暗；他们自负为智者，反而是愚蠢的。

 

and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for the likeness of an image of mortal man or of birds or of four-legged animals or of snakes.

他们将不可朽坏的天主的光荣，归于可朽坏的人、飞禽、走兽和爬虫形状的偶像。

 

Therefore, God handed them over to impurity through the lusts of their hearts for the mutual degradation of their bodies.

因此，天主任凭他们随从心中的情欲，陷于不洁，以致彼此玷污自己的身体；

 

They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and revered and worshiped the creature rather than the creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

因为他们将虚妄变作天主的真理，去崇拜事奉受造物，以代替造物主 ── 他是永远可赞美的。亚孟！

【答】：高天陈述天主的光荣。

 

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament proclaims his handiwork. Day pours out the word to day, and night to night imparts knowledge.

领：高天陈述天主的光荣，穹苍宣扬他的奇工妙化。日与日侃侃而谈，夜与夜知识相传。

 

R. The heavens proclaim the glory of God.

【答】：高天陈述天主的光荣。

 

Not a word nor a discourse whose voice is not heard; Through all the earth their voice resounds, and to the ends of the world, their message.

领：不是语，也不是言，是听不到的语言；它们的声音传遍普世，它们的言语达于地极。

 

R. The heavens proclaim the glory of God.

【答】：高天陈述天主的光荣。

 

Gospel Lk 11:37-41

福音（你们施舍吧！那么一切对你们便都洁净了。）

恭读圣路加福音 11:37-41

 

After Jesus had spoken, a Pharisee invited him to dine at his home. He entered and reclined at table to eat.

耶稣正说话的时候，有一个法利塞人请他到自己家中用饭，耶稣进去便入了席。

 

The Pharisee was amazed to see that he did not observe the prescribed washing before the meal.

那个法利塞人看见耶稣饭前不洗手，觉得奇怪。

 

The Lord said to him, "Oh you Pharisees! Although you cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish, inside you are filled with plunder and evil.

但主对他说：“你们法利塞人洗净杯盘的外面，你们心中却满是劫夺与邪恶。

 

You fools! Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside? But as to what is within, give alms, and behold, everything will be clean for you."

糊涂人哪！那造外面的，不是也造了里面吗？只要把你们杯盘里面的施舍了，那么，一切对你们便都洁净了。”
