First Reading: DT 4:32-40

读经一（上主爱你的祖先，才拣选了他们的后裔。）

恭读申命纪 4:32-40

 

Moses said to the people: "Ask now of the days of old, before your time, ever since God created man upon the earth; ask from one end of the sky to the other:

梅瑟向百姓说：“你且考察在你以前过去的世代，从天主在地上造了人以来，由天这边到天那边，

 

Did anything so great ever happen before? Was it ever heard of? Did a people ever hear the voice of God speaking from the midst of fire, as you did, and live?

是否有过像这样的大事，是否听过像这样的事？是否有一民族，如同你一样，听到了天主由火中说话的声音，还仍然活着？

 

Or did any god venture to go and take a nation for himself from the midst of another nation, by testings, by signs and wonders, by war, with his strong hand and outstretched arm, and by great terrors, all of which the LORD, your God, did for you in Egypt before your very eyes?

或者，是否有过一个神，以灾难、神迹、奇事、战争、强力的手、伸展的臂和可怕的威能，企图将某一民族由另一民族中领出来，如上主你们的天主在埃及于你们跟前，对你们所做的一切一样？

 

All this you were allowed to see that you might know the LORD is God and there is no other.

这一切只显示给你，是要你知道，只有上主是天主，除他以外再没有别的神。

 

Out of the heavens he let you hear his voice to discipline you; on earth he let you see his great fire, and you heard him speaking out of the fire.

他由天上使你听到他的声音，是为教训你；在地上使你见到他的烈火，叫你听到他由火中发出的言语。

 

For love of your fathers he chose their descendants and personally led you out of Egypt by his great power, driving out of your way nations greater and mightier than you, so as to bring you in and to make their land your heritage, as it is today.

他由于爱你的祖先，才拣选了他们的后裔，亲自以大能把你由埃及领出来，由你面前赶走比你更大的民族，领你进入他们的国土，赐给你作为产业，就如今日一样。

 

This is why you must now know, and fix in your heart, that the LORD is God in the heavens above and on earth below, and that there is no other.

所以今日你该知道，且要牢记在心：天上地下，只有上主是天主，再没有别的神。

 

You must keep his statutes and commandments which I enjoin on you today, that you and your children after you may prosper, and that you may have long life on the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you forever."

你应遵守他的法令和诫命，就是我今日所训示你的，好使你和你的后代子孙得享幸福，在上主你的天主永远赐给你的土地上长久居住。”

I remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I remember your wonders of old. And I meditate on your works; your exploits I ponder.

领：我现今追念上主的作为，回想你往昔所行的奇迹；沉思你的一切所作所为，更要默想你的一切异事。

 

R. I remember the deeds of the Lord.

【答】：我现今追念上主的作为。

 

O God, your way is holy; what great god is there like our God? You are the God who works wonders; among the peoples you have made known your power.

领：天主，你的行径完全在于圣化，有那个神像我们的天主如此伟大？只有你是施行奇迹的天主！在万民中彰显了你的威能。

 

R. I remember the deeds of the Lord.

【答】：我现今追念上主的作为。

 

With your strong arm you redeemed your people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. You led your people like a flock under the care of Moses and Aaron.

领：你以大能拯救了你的人民，就是雅各伯和若瑟的子孙。你曾藉着梅瑟和亚郎的手，领导你的子民有如领导羊群。

 

R. I remember the deeds of the Lord.

【答】：我现今追念上主的作为。

 

Gospel MT 16:24-28

福音（人还能拿什么作为自己灵魂的代价？）

恭读圣玛窦福音 16:24-28

 

Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

那时候，耶稣对门徒说：“谁若愿意跟随我，该弃绝自己，背着自己的十字架来跟随我，

 

For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

因为谁若愿意救自己的性命，必要丧失性命；但谁若为我的缘故，丧失自己的性命，必要获得性命。

 

What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world and forfeit his life? Or what can one give in exchange for his life?

人纵然赚得了全世界，却赔上了自己的灵魂，为他有什么益处？或者，人还能拿什么作为自己灵魂的代价？

 

For the Son of Man will come with his angels in his Father’s glory, and then he will repay each according to his conduct.

因为将来人子要在他父的光荣中同他的天使降来，那时，他要按照每人的行为予以赏报。

 

Amen, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom.”

我实在告诉你们：站在这里的人中，就有些人未尝到死味以前，必要看见人子来到自己的国内。”
