First Reading:  MAL 3:1-4, 23-24

读经一（在上主的日子来临前，我必派遣先知厄里亚到你们这里来。）

恭读玛拉基亚先知书  3:1-4,23-24

 

Thus says the Lord GOD: Lo, I am sending my messenger to prepare the way before me; And suddenly there will come to the temple the LORD whom you seek,

上主这样说：看！我要派遣我的使者，在我前面预备道路。你们所寻求的主宰，必要忽然进入他的殿内；

 

And the messenger of the covenant whom you desire. Yes, he is coming, says the LORD of hosts.

你们所想望的盟约的使者，看！他来了。

 

But who will endure the day of his coming? And who can stand when he appears?

但是，他来临之日，有谁能支持得住？他显现时，有谁能站立得住？

 

For he is like the refiner's fire, or like the fuller's lye. He will sit refining and purifying silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi,

因为他像炼金者用的炉火，又像漂布者用的卤汁。他必要坐下，像个溶化和炼净银子的人，炼净肋未的子孙，

 

Refining them like gold or like silver that they may offer due sacrifice to the LORD.

精炼他们像精炼金银一样，使他们能怀着虔诚，向上主奉献祭品：

 

Then the sacrifice of Judah and Jerusalem will please the LORD, as in the days of old, as in years gone by.

那时，犹大和耶路撒冷所献的祭品，必能悦乐上主，有如昔日和往年。

 

Lo, I will send you Elijah, the prophet, Before the day of the LORD comes, the great and terrible day,

看，在上主伟大及可怕的日子来临以前，我必派遣先知厄里亚到你们这里来；

 

To turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the land with doom.

他将使父亲的心转向儿子，使儿子的心转向父亲，免得我来临时，以毁灭律打击这地。

Your ways, O LORD, make known to me; teach me your paths, Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my savior.

领：上主，求你使我认识你的法度，并求你教训我履行你的道路。还求你教训我；引我进入真理之路，因你是救我的天主。

 

R.  Lift up your heads and see; your redemption is near at hand.

【答】：你们应当挺起身来，抬起头来，因为你们的救援近了。

 

Good and upright is the LORD; thus he shows sinners the way. He guides the humble to justice, he teaches the humble his way.

领： 因为上主仁慈又正直，常领迷途者归回正路，引导谦卑者遵守正义，教导善良者走入正途。

【答】：你们应当挺起身来，抬起头来，因为你们的救援近了。

 

All the paths of the LORD are kindness and constancy toward those who keep his covenant and his decrees. The friendship of the LORD is with those who fear him, and his covenant, for their instruction.

领：对待持守上主的盟约和诫命的人，上主的一切行径常是慈爱和忠诚。上主亲近敬畏自己的人民，也使他们认识自己的誓盟。

Gospel  LK 1:57-66

福音（洗者若翰的诞生。）

恭读圣路加福音  1:57-66

 

When the time arrived for Elizabeth to have her child she gave birth to a son. Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown his great mercy toward her, and they rejoiced with her.

依撒伯尔满了产期，就生了一个儿子。她的邻居和亲戚听说上主向她大施仁慈，都和她一同欢乐。

 

When they came on the eighth day to circumcise the child, they were going to call him Zechariah after his father, but his mother said in reply, "No. He will be called John."

到了第八天，人们来给这孩子行割损礼，并愿意照他父亲的名字叫他匝加利亚。他的母亲说：“不，要叫他若翰。”

 

But they answered her, "There is no one among your relatives who has this name." So they made signs, asking his father what he wished him to be called.

他们就向她说：“在你亲族中没有叫这个名字的。”他们便向他的父亲打手势，看他愿叫他什么。

 

He asked for a tablet and wrote, "John is his name," and all were amazed.

他要了一块小板，写道：“若翰是他的名字。”众人都惊讶起来。

 

Immediately his mouth was opened, his tongue freed, and he spoke blessing God.

匝加利亚的口和舌头立时开了，遂开口赞美天主。

 

Then fear came upon all their neighbors,  and all these matters were discussed throughout the hill country of Judea.

于是，所有的邻居都满怀怕情；这一切事就传遍了全犹大山区，

 

All who heard these things took them to heart, saying, "What, then, will this child be? For surely the hand of the Lord was with him."

凡听见的人都将这事存在心中，说：“这孩子将成为什么人物啊？”因为上主的手与他同在。
