First Reading:  Is 48:17-19

读经一（恨不得你一向听从我的命令。）

恭读依撒意亚先知书  48:17-19

 

Thus says the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I, the LORD, your God, teach you what is for your good, and lead you on the way you should go.

你的救主上主，以色列的圣者这样说：“我是上主你的天主，教训你为你有益的事，引你走当走的道路。

 

If you would hearken to my commandments, your prosperity would be like a river, and your vindication like the waves of the sea;

恨不得你一向听从我的命令！那麽你的安乐将似江河，你的幸福将似海涛；

 

Your descendants would be like the sand, and those born of your stock like its grains, Their name never cut off or blotted out from my presence.

你的子孙多如海沙，出于你身的苗裔多似沙粒；你的名字在我前决不会抹去，也决不会被删除。”

Blessed the man who follows not the counsel of the wicked Nor walks in the way of sinners, nor sits in the company of the insolent, But delights in the law of the LORD and meditates on his law day and night.

领：凡不随从恶人的计谋，不插足于罪人的道路，不参与讥讽者的席位，而专心爱好上主法律的，和昼夜默思上主诫命的，像这样的人才是有福的！

 

R.  Those who follow you, Lord, will have the light of life.

【答】：上主，跟随你的，必有生命之光。

 

He is like a tree planted near running water, That yields its fruit in due season, and whose leaves never fade. Whatever he does, prospers.

领：他像植在溪畔的树，准时结果，枝叶不枯，所作所为，随心所欲。

 

R.  Those who follow you, Lord, will have the light of life.

【答】：上主，跟随你的，必有生命之光。

 

Not so the wicked, not so; they are like chaff which the wind drives away. For the LORD watches over the way of the just, but the way of the wicked vanishes.

领：恶人却不如此，绝不如此！他们像被风吹散的糠秕。因上主赏识义人的行径，恶人的行径必自趋沉沦。

 

R.  Those who follow you, Lord, will have the light of life.

【答】：上主，跟随你的，必有生命之光。

 

Gospel  Mt 11:16-19

福音（他们既不听从若翰，也不听从人子。）

恭读圣玛窦福音  11:16-19

 

Jesus said to the crowds: "To what shall I compare this generation? It is like children who sit in marketplaces and call to one another,

那时，耶稣向群众说：“我可把这一代比作什么呢？它像坐在大街上的儿童，向其他的孩子喊叫，

 

'We played the flute for you, but you did not dance, we sang a dirge but you did not mourn.'

说：我们给你们吹了笛，你们却不跳舞；我们唱了哀歌，你们却不捶胸。

 

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they said, 'He is possessed by a demon.' The Son of Man came eating and drinking and they said,

若翰来了，也不吃，也不喝。他们便说：他附了魔；人子来了，也吃也喝，他们却说：

 

'Look, he is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.' But wisdom is vindicated by her works."

看啊！一个贪吃嗜酒的人，税吏和罪人的朋友！但智慧必藉自己的工程彰显自己的正义。”
