First Reading: SIR 47:2-11

读经一（达味全心歌颂及爱慕创造者。）

恭读德训篇 47: 2-13

 

Like the choice fat of the sacred offerings, so was David in Israel.

从以色列子民中，选出的达味，有如由和平祭的肉中，提出的脂肪。

 

He made sport of lions as though they were kids, and of bears, like lambs of the flock.

他玩弄狮子，有如玩弄山羊；戏弄野熊，如同戏弄羔羊。

 

As a youth he slew the giant and wiped out the people’s disgrace, When his hand let fly the slingstone that crushed the pride of Goliath.

他年轻时，不是击杀了大力士，雪洗了民族的耻辱，不是一举手，用套带的石子，打倒了哥肋雅的傲慢么？

 

Since he called upon the Most High God, who gave strength to his right arm to defeat the skilled warrior and raise up the might of his people,

因为他事前，曾呼求了至高者上主，上主就赐他右手有力，以击杀勇猛的战士，为高举自己百姓的角。

 

Therefore the women sang his praises, and ascribed to him tens of thousands and praised him when they blessed the Lord.

所以处女们向他歌唱，称扬他克胜了万人；大家都以上主的祝福称扬他，

 

When he assumed the royal crown, he battled and subdued the enemy on every side. He destroyed the hostile Philistines and shattered their power till our own day.

给他献上荣耀的冠冕。他击溃了四周的仇敌，剿灭了对手培肋舍特人，直到今日还挫折他们的角。

 

With his every deed he offered thanks to God Most High, in words of praise. With his whole being he loved his Maker and daily had his praises sung;

他以自己的一切行为感谢圣者，以赞扬的词句歌颂至高者；他全心歌颂及爱慕创造者。

 

He set singers before the altar and by their voices he made sweet melodies,

他叫人在祭坛前歌咏奏乐，以优美的声音，唱出悦耳的歌曲，每日按时歌唱圣咏。

 

He added beauty to the feasts and solemnized the seasons of each year So that when the Holy Name was praised, before daybreak the sanctuary would resound.

他增加了庆节的盛况，使庆典隆重壮观，使赞美上主圣名的声音，从清晨就响彻圣殿。

 

The LORD forgave him his sins and exalted his strength forever; He conferred on him the rights of royalty and established his throne in Israel.

上主赦免了他的罪过，永远高举了他的角，与他立了为王的盟约，使他在以色列获得光荣的宝座。

God's way is unerring, the promise of the LORD is fire-tried; he is a shield to all who take refuge in him.

领：天主的道路是完善的；上主的言语是精炼的；凡是投奔他的人；他必作他的后盾。

【答】：救我的天主当受赞美。

 

The LORD live! And blessed be my Rock! Extolled be God my savior. Therefore will I proclaim you, O LORD, among the nations, and I will sing praise to your name.

领：上主万岁！愿我的盘石备受赞颂！救我的天主备受尊崇！上主，为此，我要在异民中称谢你，我要对你的圣名赞颂不已。

 

R. Blessed be God my salvation!

【答】：救我的天主当受赞美。

 

You who gave great victories to your king and showed kindness to your anointed, to David and his posterity forever.

领：因为是你使你的君王大获胜利，对你的受傅者：达味和他的后裔，广施了仁爱慈惠，至于无穷之世。

Gospel MK 6:14-29

福音（是我所斩首的若翰复活了！）

恭读圣马尔谷福音 6:14-29

 

King Herod heard about Jesus, for his fame had become widespread,

那时，耶稣的名声传扬出去，黑落德王也听到了。

 

and people were saying, "John the Baptist has been raised from the dead; That is why mighty powers are at work in him."

有人说：“洗者若翰从死者中复活了，为此，这些奇能才在耶稣身上运行。”

 

Others were saying, "He is Elijah"; still others, "He is a prophet like any of the prophets."

但也有人说：“他是厄里亚。”更有人说：“他是先知，好像古先知中的一位。”

 

But when Herod learned of it, he said, "It is John whom I beheaded. He has been raised up."

黑落德听了，却说：“是我所斩首的若翰复活了！”

 

Herod was the one who had John arrested and bound in prison on account of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip, whom he had married.

原来这个黑落德，为了他的兄弟斐理伯的妻子黑落狄雅的缘故，因为他娶了她为妻，曾遣人逮捕了若翰，把他押在监里；

 

John had said to Herod, "It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife."

因为若翰曾给黑落德说：“你不可占有你兄弟的妻子。”

 

Herodias harbored a grudge against him and wanted to kill him but was unable to do so.

黑落狄雅便怀恨若翰，愿意杀害他，只是不能，

 

Herod feared John, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man, and kept him in custody.

因为黑落德敬畏若翰，知道他是一个正义圣洁的人，曾保全了他；

 

When he heard him speak he was very much perplexed, yet he liked to listen to him.

几时听他讲道，就甚觉困惑，但仍乐意听他。

 

Herodias had an opportunity one day when Herod, on his birthday, gave a banquet for his courtiers, his military officers, and the leading men of Galilee.

好机会的日子到了：当黑落德在自己的生日上，为自己的重要官员、军官和加里肋亚的显要，设了筵席的时候，

 

His own daughter came in and performed a dance that delighted Herod and his guests.

那个黑落狄雅的女儿便进来跳舞，获得了黑落德和同席人的欢心。

 

The king said to the girl, "Ask of me whatever you wish and I will grant it to you."

王便对女孩说：“你要什么，向我求吧！我必赐给你！”

 

He even swore many things to her, "I will grant you whatever you ask of me, even to half of my kingdom."

又对她发誓说：“无论你求我什么，就是我王国的一半，我也必定给你！”

 

She went out and said to her mother, "What shall I ask for?"

她便出去问她的母亲说：“我该求什么？”

 

Her mother replied, "The head of John the Baptist."

她母亲答说：“洗者若翰的头。”

 

The girl hurried back to the king's presence and made her request, "I want you to give me at once on a platter the head of John the Baptist."

她便立刻进去，到王面前要求说：“我要你立刻把洗者若翰的头，放在盘子里给我！”

 

The king was deeply distressed, but because of his oaths and the guests he did not wish to break his word to her.

王遂十分忧郁；但为了誓言和同席的人，不愿对她食言，

 

So he promptly dispatched an executioner with orders to bring back his head.

王遂即差遣卫兵，吩咐把若翰的头送来。

 

He went off and beheaded him in the prison. He brought in the head on a platter and gave it to the girl. The girl in turn gave it to her mother.

卫兵便去，在监里斩了若翰的头，把他的头放在盘子里送来，交给了那女孩子，那女孩子便交给了自己的母亲。

 

When his disciples heard about it, they came and took his body and laid it in a tomb.

若翰的门徒听说了，就来领去了他的尸身，把他安葬在坟墓里。
