First Reading: MAL 3:19-20A

读经一（正义的太阳将要升起。）

恭读玛拉基亚先知书　3:19-20

 

Lo, the day is coming, blazing like an oven, when all the proud and all evildoers will be stubble,

看，那日子来临，必势如冒火的火炉，所有骄傲的人，和作恶的人，都要成为禾秸；

 

and the day that is coming will set them on fire, leaving them neither root nor branch, says the LORD of hosts.

那日子一到，必要将他们烧尽──万军的上主说──不给他们留下根和枝条。

 

But for you who fear my name, there will arise the sun of justice with its healing rays.

但为你们这些敬畏我名号的人，正义的太阳，将要升起，以自己好似箭羽的光芒，普施救恩。

【答】：上主要以正义审判普世人民。

 

Sing praise to the LORD with the harp, with the harp and melodious song. With trumpets and the sound of the horn sing joyfully before the King, the LORD.

领：弹着竖琴，向上主赞颂；弹着竖琴，伴着弦韵。吹起喇叭，响起号角，在上主君王面前讴歌。

 

R. The Lord comes to rule the earth with justice.

【答】：上主要以正义审判普世人民。

 

Let the sea and what fills it resound, the world and those who dwell in it; let the rivers clap their hands, the mountains shout with them for joy.

领：海洋及其中的一切澎湃；寰宇及其居民惊骇！江河拍手鼓掌；山岳舞蹈欢唱。

 

R. The Lord comes to rule the earth with justice.

【答】：上主要以正义审判普世人民。

 

Before the LORD, for he comes, for he comes to rule the earth, he will rule the world with justice and the peoples with equity.

领：请在上主面前欢乐，因为他已驾临，统治大地干坤；他要以正义，审判普世人民；他要以公平，治理天下万民。

Second Reading : 2 THES 3:7-12

读经二（谁若不愿意工作，就不应当吃饭。）

恭读圣保禄宗徒致得撒洛尼人后书　3:7-12

 

Brothers and sisters: You know how one must imitate us.

弟兄姊妹们：你们自己原来知道：该怎样效法我们，

 

For we did not act in a disorderly way among you, nor did we eat food received free from anyone.

因为我们在你们中，没有闲散过，也没有白吃过人的饭，

 

On the contrary, in toil and drudgery, night and day we worked, so as not to burden any of you.

而是黑夜白日，辛苦勤劳地工作，免得加重你们任何人的负担。

 

Not that we do not have the right. Rather, we wanted to present ourselves as a model for you, so that you might imitate us.

这不是因为我们没有权利，而是为以身作则，给你们立下榜样，叫你们效法我们。

 

In fact, when we were with you, we instructed you that if anyone was unwilling to work, neither should that one eat.

当我们在你们那里的时候，早已吩咐过你们：谁若不愿意工作，就不应当吃饭，

 

We hear that some are conducting themselves among you in a disorderly way, by not keeping busy but minding the business of others.

因为我们听说，你们中有些人，游手好闲，什么也不作，却好管闲事。

 

Such people we instruct and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to work quietly and to eat their own food.

我们因主耶稣基督，吩咐这样的人，并劝勉他们安静工作，吃自己的饭。

Gospel LK 21:5-19

福音（你们要凭着坚忍，保全你们的灵魂。）

恭读圣路加福音　21:5-19

 

While some people were speaking about how the temple was adorned with costly stones and votive offerings,

那时候，有些人正谈论圣殿是用美丽的石头，及还愿的献礼装饰的；

 

Jesus said, "All that you see here--the days will come when there will not be left a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down."

耶稣说：“你们所看见的这一切，当那日子一到，便没有一块石头，留在另一块石头上，而不被拆毁的。”

 

Then they asked him, "Teacher, when will this happen? And what sign will there be when all these things are about to happen?"

门徒于是问：“师父，那么，什么时候要发生这些事？这些事要发生的时候，将有什么先兆？”

 

He answered, "See that you not be deceived, for many will come in my name, saying, 'I am he,' and 'The time has come.' Do not follow them!

耶稣说：“你们要谨慎，不要受欺骗！因为将有许多人，假冒我的名字而来，说：我就是（默西亚）；又说：时期近了。你们切不可跟随他们。

 

When you hear of wars and insurrections, do not be terrified; for such things must happen first, but it will not immediately be the end."

你们几时听见战争及叛乱，不要惊惶！因为，这些事必须先要发生，但还不即刻是结局。”

 

Then he said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

耶稣于是又给门徒说：“民族要起来攻击民族，国家攻击国家；

 

There will be powerful earthquakes, famines, and plagues from place to place; and awesome sights and mighty signs will come from the sky.

将有大地震，到处有饥荒及瘟疫；将出现可怖的异象，天上要有巨大的凶兆。

 

Before all this happens, however, they will seize and persecute you, they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons, and they will have you led before kings and governors because of my name.

但是，这一切事以前，你们为了我的名字，要被拘捕和迫害；人们要把你们解送到会堂，并关进监狱；且押送到君王及总督之前，为给你们一个作见证的机会。

 

It will lead to your giving testimony. Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand, for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute.

所以，你们心中要镇定，不要事先考虑申辩，因为我要给你们口才和明智，是你们一切仇敌，所不能抵抗及辩驳的。

 

You will even be handed over by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends, and they will put some of you to death.

你们要被父母、兄弟、亲戚及朋友出卖；你们中有一些，要被杀死。

 

You will be hated by all because of my name, but not a hair on your head will be destroyed. By your perseverance you will secure your lives."

你们要为我的名字，受众人憎恨；但是，连你们的一根头发，也不会失落。你们要凭着坚忍，保全你们的灵魂。”
