First Reading: JOS 24:14-29

恭读若苏厄书 24:14-29

 

Joshua gathered together all the tribes of Israel at Shechem, and addressed them, saying: "Fear the LORD and serve him completely and sincerely.

若苏厄对群众说：“你们应该敬畏上主，诚心敬意地事奉他，

 

Cast out the gods your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD.

抛弃你们祖先在大河那边和埃及所事奉的神，惟独事奉上主。

 

If it does not please you to serve the LORD, decide today whom you will serve, the gods your fathers served beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose country you are dwelling. As for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."

若是你们不乐意事奉上主，那么今天就选择你们所愿事奉的，或是你们祖先在大河那边事奉的神，或是你们现住地的阿摩黎人的神；至于我和我的家族，我们一定要事奉上主。”

 

But the people answered, "Far be it from us to forsake the LORD for the service of other gods.

百姓回答说：“我们绝对不愿背弃上主，去事奉其他的神！

 

For it was the LORD, our God, who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, out of a state of slavery.

因为上主是我们的天主，是他领我们和我们的祖先出离了埃及地，为奴之家，

 

He performed those great miracles before our very eyes and protected us along our entire journey and among all the peoples through whom we passed.

在我们跟前行了那些绝大的神迹，在我们所走的一切路上，在我们所经过的一切民族中，始终保护了我们。

 

At our approach the LORD drove out all the peoples, including the Amorites who dwelt in the land. Therefore we also will serve the LORD, for he is our God."

上主更从我们面前，赶走了所有的异族，和住在这地的阿摩黎人。为此，我们必要事奉上主，因为他是我们的天主。”

 

Joshua in turn said to the people, "You may not be able to serve the LORD, for he is a holy God; he is a jealous God who will not forgive your transgressions or your sins.

若苏厄对百姓说：“你们不能事奉上主，因为他是神圣不可侵犯的天主，是忌邪的天主，他决不宽赦你们的过犯和罪恶。

 

If, after the good he has done for you, you forsake the LORD and serve strange gods, he will do evil to you and destroy you."

如果你们背弃上主，去事奉外邦的神，在他恩待你们之后，他必转而向你们降祸，消灭你们。”

 

But the people answered Joshua, "We will still serve the LORD." Joshua therefore said to the people, "You are your own witnesses that you have chosen to serve the LORD."

百姓答覆若苏厄说：“决不！我们一定要事奉上主！”若苏厄对百姓说：“这是你们对自己作证，要选择事奉上主！”

 

They replied, "We are, indeed!" Joshua continued: "Now, therefore, put away the strange gods that are among you and turn your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel."

他们答说：“我们自己作证。”“那么﹐你们应除掉你们中间的外邦神，一心归向上主，以色列的天主。”

 

Then the people promised Joshua, "We will serve the LORD, our God, and obey his voice."

百姓答覆若苏厄说：“我们必定事奉上主，我们的天主，必听从他的声音。”

 

So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day and made statutes and ordinances for them at Shechem, which he recorded in the book of the law of God.

当天，若苏厄便与百姓立约，在舍根为他们立定了诫命和典章。若苏厄将这些话都写在天主的法律书上；

 

Then he took a large stone and set it up there under the oak that was in the sanctuary of the LORD.

又取了一块大石，立在上主圣所旁边的笃耨香树下。

 

And Joshua said to all the people, "This stone shall be our witness, for it has heard all the words which the LORD spoke to us. It shall be a witness against you, should you wish to deny your God."

若苏厄对全民众说：“看！这块石头将作我们的见证，因为这块石头听见了上主对我们所说的一切话。这块石头也将作你们的见证，以免你们背弃你们的天主。”

 

Then Joshua dismissed the people, each to his own heritage. After these events, Joshua, son of Nun, servant of the LORD, died at the age of a hundred and ten.

此后，若苏厄便打发百姓各自回到自己的土地去了。这些事以后，上主的仆人，农的儿子若苏厄便去世了，享年一百一十岁。

【答】：上主，你是我的产业，是我的杯爵。

 

Keep me, O God, for in you I take refuge; I say to the LORD, "My Lord are you." O LORD, my allotted portion and my cup, you it is who hold fast my lot.

领：天主，求你保佑我，因为我只投靠你。我对天主说：“唯有你是我的上主，上主，你是我的产业，是我的杯爵，我要得你的基业，有你为我守看。”

 

R.  You are my inheritance, O Lord.

【答】：上主，你是我的产业，是我的杯爵。

 

I bless the LORD who counsels me; even in the night my heart exhorts me. I set the LORD ever before me; with him at my right hand I shall not be disturbed.

领：我要赞颂引导我的上主，我心连夜间也向我督促。我常将上主置于我的眼前，我决不动摇，因他在我右边。

 

R.  You are my inheritance, O Lord.

【答】：上主，你是我的产业，是我的杯爵。

 

You will show me the path to life, fullness of joys in your presence, the delights at your right hand forever.

领：请你将生命的道路指示给我，唯有在你面前才有圆满的喜悦，永远在你右边也是我的福乐。

 

R.  You are my inheritance, O Lord.

【答】：上主，你是我的产业，是我的杯爵。

 

Gospel MT 19:13-15

福音（不要阻止小孩子到我跟前来，因为天国正是属于这样的人。）

恭读圣玛窦福音 19:13-15

 

Children were brought to Jesus that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked them,

那时，有人给耶稣领来一些小孩子，要他给他们覆手祈祷，门徒却斥责他们。

 

but Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

耶稣说：“你们让小孩子来吧！不要阻止他们到我跟前来，因为天国正是属于这样的人。”

 

After he placed his hands on them, he went away.

耶稣给他们覆了手，就从那里走了。
