First Reading: EX 32:15-24, 30-34

读经一（这百姓犯了重罪，为自己制造了金神像。）

Moses turned and came down the mountain with the two tablets of the commandments in his hands, tablets that were written on both sides, front and back;

梅瑟转身下山，手中拿着两块约版，版两面都写着字，前面后面都有字。

 

tablets that were made by God, having inscriptions on them that were engraved by God himself.

版是天主做的，字是天主写的，刻在版上。

 

Now, when Joshua heard the noise of the people shouting, he said to Moses, "That sounds like a battle in the camp."

若苏厄一听见百姓喧哗的声音，就对梅瑟说：“营里有战争的声音。”

 

But Moses answered, "It does not sound like cries of victory, nor does it sound like cries of defeat; the sounds that I hear are cries of revelry."

梅瑟回答说：“这不是战胜的歌声，也不是战败的吵声，我听见的是应和的歌声。”

 

As he drew near the camp, he saw the calf and the dancing. With that, Moses' wrath flared up, so that he threw the tablets down and broke them on the base of the mountain.

当梅瑟走近营幕的时候，见了百姓所铸的牛犊，看见人歌舞，遂大发雷霆，把两块石版由手中抛出，摔碎在山下。

 

Taking the calf they had made, he fused it in the fire and then ground it down to powder, which he scattered on the water and made the children of Israel drink.

随后拿过他们所造的牛犊，投在火中焚烧，捣成细末，撒在水面上，叫以色列子民喝。

 

Moses asked Aaron, "What did this people ever do to you that you should lead them into so grave a sin?" Aaron replied, "Let not my lord be angry.

梅瑟对亚郎说：“这百姓对你作了什么，你竟使他们陷于重罪”亚郎回答说：“我主，请不要生气！

 

You know well enough how prone the people are to evil. They said to me, 'Make us a god to be our leader; as for the man Moses who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has happened to him.'

你知道这百姓倾向于恶。他们对我说：请给我们制一神像，在我们前面引路，因为那领我们出埃及国的梅瑟，不知道遭遇了什么事。

 

So I told them, 'Let anyone who has gold jewelry take it off.' They gave it to me, and I threw it into the fire, and this calf came out."

我给他们说：谁有金子，就摘下来！他们遂给我送来。我把金子投在火中，这牛犊便出来了。”

 

On the next day Moses said to the people, "You have committed a grave sin. I will go up to the LORD, then; perhaps I may be able to make atonement for your sin."

到了次日，梅瑟向百姓说：“你们犯了重罪，现在我要上到上主台前，也许我能为你们赎罪。”

 

So Moses went back to the LORD and said, "Ah, this people has indeed committed a grave sin in making a god of gold for themselves!

梅瑟回到上主那里说：“唉！这百姓犯了重罪，为自己制造了金神像。

 

If you would only forgive their sin! If you will not, then strike me out of the book that you have written."

现在只求你赦免他们的罪，不然，就把我从你所记录的册子上抹去吧！”

 

The LORD answered, "Him only who has sinned against me will I strike out of my book.

上主回答梅瑟说：“谁犯罪得罪我，我就把谁从我的册子上抹去。

 

Now, go and lead the people to the place I have told you. My angel will go before you. When it is time for me to punish, I will punish them for their sin."

现在你去领我的百姓到我吩咐你的地方去。看，我的使者在你前面引路。在我惩罚之日，我必惩罚他们的罪。”

【答】：请你们向上主赞颂，因为他是美善宽仁的。

 

Our fathers made a calf in Horeb and adored a molten image; They exchanged their glory for the image of a grass-eating bullock.

领：我们的祖先在曷勒布制造了牛犊，竟崇拜了金铸的一个偶像；将自己光荣的天主，变成了吃草的牛犊。

 

R.  Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.

【答】：请你们向上主赞颂，因为他是美善宽仁的。

 

They forgot the God who had saved them, who had done great deeds in Egypt, Wondrous deeds in the land of Ham, terrible things at the Red Sea.

领：他们竟将拯救自己的天主忘记：他曾在埃及显示了奇事，他也曾在含邦施行过灵迹，也曾在红海显示过奇事。

 

R.  Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.

【答】：请你们向上主赞颂，因为他是美善宽仁的。

 

Then he spoke of exterminating them, but Moses, his chosen one, Withstood him in the breach to turn back his destructive wrath.

领：若非天主拣选的梅瑟出现，站立在当地裂口的前方，挽回他存心灭绝的怒浪，他早下令全将他们消灭。

【答】：请你们向上主赞颂，因为他是美善宽仁的。

 

Gospel Mt 13:31-35

福音（芥子成了树，甚至天上的飞鸟也在它的枝上栖息。）

恭读圣玛窦福音 13:31-35

 

Jesus proposed a parable to the crowds. "The Kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a person took and sowed in a field.

那时，耶稣给群众设一个比喻说：“天国好像一粒芥子，人把它撒在自己的田里。

 

It is the smallest of all the seeds, yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants.

它固然是各样种子里最小的，但当它长起来，却比各种蔬菜都大，

 

It becomes a large bush, and the 'birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches.'" He spoke to them another parable.

竟成了树，甚至天上的飞鸟也飞来，在它枝上栖息。”他又给他们讲了一个比喻：

 

"The Kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed with three measures of wheat flour until the whole batch was leavened."

“天国好像酵母，女人取来藏在三斗面里，直到全部发了酵。”

 

All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables. He spoke to them only in parables, to fulfill what had been said through the prophet:

耶稣用比喻给群众讲解了这一切，不用比喻就不给他们讲什么；这样应验了先知所说的话：

 

I will open my mouth in parables, I will announce what has lain hidden from the foundation of the world.

我要开口说比喻，要说出由创世以来隐密的事。
