First Reading: 2 SM 7:4-5A, 12-14A, 16

读经一（上主天主要把他祖先达味的御座赐给他。）

恭读撒慕尔纪下 7:4-5,12-14,16

 

The LORD spoke to Nathan and said: "Go, tell my servant David, 'When your time comes and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up your heir after you, sprung from your loins, and I will make his kingdom firm.

那时候，上主的话传于纳堂说：“你去告诉我的仆人达味，上主这样说：当你的日子满期与你祖先长眠时，我必在你以后兴起一个后裔，即你所生的儿子；我必巩固他的王权。

 

It is he who shall build a house for my name. And I will make his royal throne firm forever. I will be a father to him, and he shall be a son to me.

是他要为我的名建立殿宇；我要巩固他的王位直到永远。我要作他的父亲，他要作我的儿子。

 

Your house and your kingdom shall endure forever before me; your throne shall stand firm forever.'"

你的家室和王权，在我面前永远存在，你的王位也永远坚定不移。”

The promises of the LORD I will sing forever; through all generations my mouth shall proclaim your faithfulness, For you have said, "My kindness is established forever"; in heaven you have confirmed your faithfulness.

领：我要永永远远歌咏上主的恩宠，要世世代代亲口称扬你的忠诚。你原说过：“我的恩宠已永远奠定！”就如你在天上确定了你的忠诚。

【答】：他的后裔必定要永远兴隆。

 

I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant: Forever will I confirm your posterity and establish your throne for all generations.

领：我同我拣选的人立了约契，同我的仆人达味起了盟誓，我直到永远巩固你的后裔，世世代代将你的宝座建立。

【答】：他的后裔必定要永远兴隆。

 

He shall say of me, 'You are my father, my God, the Rock, my savior.' Forever I will maintain my kindness toward him, and my covenant with him stands firm.

领：他要称赞我说：“你是我的大父，是我救恩的磐石，是我的天主。”我同他永远保持我的慈爱，我同他立的约，永不得破坏。

【答】：他的后裔必定要永远兴隆。

 

Second Reading : ROM 4:13, 16-18, 22

读经二（亚巴郎在绝望中仍怀着希望而相信了。）

恭读圣保禄宗徒致罗马人书 4:13,16-18,22

 

Brothers and sisters: It was not through the law that the promise was made to Abraham and his descendants that he would inherit the world,

弟兄们：许给亚巴郎和他后裔的恩许，使他作世界的承继者，并不是藉着法律，

 

but through the righteousness that comes from faith. For this reason, it depends on faith, so that it may be a gift,

而是藉著因信德而获得的正义。为此，一切都是由于信德，为的是一切都本着恩宠，

 

and the promise may be guaranteed to all his descendants, not to those who only adhere to the law but to those who follow the faith of Abraham, who is the father of all of us, as it is written, I have made you father of many nations.

使恩许为亚巴郎所有的一切后裔坚定不移，不仅为那属于法律的后裔，而且也为那有亚巴郎信德的后裔，因为他是我们众人的父亲，正如经上所载：“我已立你为万民之父”；

 

He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into being what does not exist.

亚巴郎是在他所信的天主面前，就是在叫死者复活，叫那不存在的成为存在的那位面前，作我们众人的父亲。

 

He believed, hoping against hope, that he would become the father of many nations, according to what was said, Thus shall your descendants be. That is why it was credited to him as righteousness.

他在绝望中仍怀着希望而相信了，因此便成了万民之父，正如向他所预许的：“你的后裔也要这样多。”天主就以此算为他的正义。

Jacob was the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Of her was born Jesus who is called the Christ. Now this is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about.

雅各伯生若瑟，玛利亚的丈夫，玛利亚生耶稣，他称为基督。耶稣基督的诞生是这样的：

 

When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found with child through the Holy Spirit.

他的母亲玛利亚许配于若瑟后，在同居前，她因圣神有孕的事已显示出来。

 

Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man, yet unwilling to expose her to shame, decided to divorce her quietly. Such was his intention when,

她的丈夫若瑟，因是义人，不愿公开羞辱她，有意暗暗地休退她。当他在思虑这事时，

 

behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home.

看，在梦中上主的天使显现给他说：“达味之子若瑟，不要怕娶你的妻子玛利亚，

 

For it is through the Holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

因为那在她内受生的，是出于圣神。她要生一个儿子，你要给他起名叫耶稣，因为他要把自己的民族，由他们的罪恶中拯救出来。”

 

When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home.

若瑟从睡梦中醒来，就照上主的天使所嘱咐的办了。
