First Reading:  GN 11:1-9

读经一（我们下去，混乱他们的语言。）

恭读创世纪  11：1-9

 

The whole world spoke the same language, using the same words. While the people were migrating in the east, they came upon a valley in the land of Shinar and settled there.

当时全世界只有一种语言，说一样的话。当他们从东方迁移的时候，在史纳尔地方找到了一片平原，就在那里住下了。

 

They said to one another, "Come, let us mold bricks and harden them with fire." They used bricks for stone, and bitumen for mortar.

他们彼此说：“来吧，我们来做砖，用火烧透。”于是他们拿砖当石头，拿沥青代替灰泥。

 

Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the sky, and so make a name for ourselves; otherwise we shall be scattered all over the earth."

然后彼此说：“来吧！让我们建造一座城和一座塔，塔顶摩天，好给我们做纪念，免得我们分散到全世界！”

 

The LORD came down to see the city and the tower that they had built.

于是上主下来，要看看世人所造的城和塔。

 

Then the LORD said: "If now, while they are one people, all speaking the same language, they have started to do this, nothing will later stop them from doing whatever they presume to do.

上主说：“他们是一个民族，都说一样的话。他们现在就开始做这事，以后他们所想做的，就没有不成功的了。

 

Let us then go down and there confuse their language, so that one will not understand what another says." Thus the LORD scattered them from there all over the earth, and they stopped building the city.

来！我们下去，混乱他们的语言，使他们彼此语言不通。”于是上主把他们分散到全世界，他们就停止建造那座城。

 

That is why it was called Babel, because there the LORD confused the speech of all the world. It was from that place that he scattered them all over the earth.

因此人称那城为“巴贝耳”，因为上主在那里混乱了人类的语言，而且把他们分散到全世界。

R. Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.

答：上主选为产业的国民真是有福！

 

The LORD brings to nought the plans of nations; he foils the designs of peoples. But the plan of the LORD stands forever; the design of his heart, through all generations.

领：上主使异邦的计划破坏，使万民的策略失败。上主的计划却永恒不变，他心中的谋略万代长存。

 

R. Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.

答：上主选为产业的国民真是有福！

 

Blessed the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he has chosen for his own inheritance. From heaven the LORD looks down; he sees all mankind.

领：尊上主为天主的民族真是有福！上主选为产业的国民真是有福！上主由天眷顾，观看所有居民。

 

R. Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.

答：上主选为产业的国民真是有福！

 

From his fixed throne he beholds all who dwell on the earth, He who fashioned the heart of each, he who knows all their works.

领：他由自己的居处，垂视居于大地的人民。他塑造了他们的心灵，洞悉他们的一切言行。

答：上主选为产业的国民真是有福！

 

Gospel  MK 8:34-9:1

福音（谁若为我和福音的缘故丧失自己的性命，必要保全性命。）

恭读圣马尔谷福音 8:34-38; 9:1

 

Jesus summoned the crowd with his disciples and said to them, "Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

那时候，耶稣召集群众和门徒，对他们说：“谁若愿意跟随我，就该舍弃自己，背着自己的十字架，跟随我。

 

For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and that of the Gospel will save it.

谁若愿意救自己的性命，必要丧失性命；但谁若为我和福音的缘故丧失性命，必要保全性命。

 

What profit is there for one to gain the whole world and forfeit his life? What could one give in exchange for his life?

人纵然赚得全世界，却赔上自己的灵魂，为他有什么益处呢？人还能用什么做代价换回他的灵魂呢？

 

Whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this faithless and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels."

谁若在这淫乱和罪恶的世代中，以我和我的话为耻，将来人子在他父的光荣中，和圣天使降来时，也要以他为耻。”

 

He also said to them, "Amen, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see that the Kingdom of God has come in power."

耶稣又对他们说：“我实在告诉你们：站在这里的人中，就有几个在未尝到死味以前，必要看见天主的国带着威能降来。”
