The Epiphany of the Lord

First Reading: Is 60:1-6

读经一（上主的荣耀已照耀在你身上。）

恭读依撒意亚先知书 60:1-6

 

Rise up in splendor, Jerusalem! Your light has come, the glory of the Lord shines upon you.

耶路撒冷啊！起来炫耀吧！因为你的光明，已经来到；上主的荣耀，已经照耀在你身上。

 

See, darkness covers the earth, and thick clouds cover the peoples; but upon you the LORD shines, and over you appears his glory.

看啊！黑暗笼罩着大地，阴云遮蔽著万民；但上主却照耀着你，他的荣耀，要彰显在你的身上。

 

Nations shall walk by your light, and kings by your shining radiance. Raise your eyes and look about; they all gather and come to you: your sons come from afar, and your daughters in the arms of their nurses.

万民要奔赴你的光明；众王要投奔你升起的光辉。举目向四方观望吧！他们都聚集来到你这里；你的众子，要从远方而来，你的女儿，要被抱回来。

 

Then you shall be radiant at what you see, your heart shall throb and overflow, for the riches of the sea shall be emptied out before you, the wealth of nations shall be brought to you.

那时，你见到这情形，必要喜形于色，你的心灵，必要兴奋愉快，因为，海洋的珍宝，都要归于你，万民的财富，都要归你所有。

 

Caravans of camels shall fill you, dromedaries from Midian and Ephah; all from Sheba shall come bearing gold and frankincense, and proclaiming the praises of the LORD.

成群结队的骆驼，以及米德杨和厄法的独峰驼，要齐集在你境内；牠们从舍巴，满载黄金和乳香而来，宣扬上主的荣耀。

【答】：上主，普世万民都来朝拜你。

 

O God, with your judgment endow the king, and with your justice, the king's son; He shall govern your people with justice and your afflicted ones with judgment.

领：天主，求你给君王传授你的权柄；求你给太子传授你的公正。使他照正义统治你的百姓；使他按公道管理你的平民。

 

R. Lord, every nation on earth will adore you.

【答】：上主，普世万民都来朝拜你。

 

Justice shall flower in his days, and profound peace, till the moon be no more. May he rule from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.

领：在他的岁月中，正义必要兴盛，到处国泰民安，直至月亮失明。他将统治大地，从这海到那海，由大河的流域，至地极的边界。

 

R. Lord, every nation on earth will adore you.

【答】：上主，普世万民都来朝拜你。

 

The kings of Tarshish and the Isles shall offer gifts; the kings of Arabia and Seba shall bring tribute. All kings shall pay him homage, all nations shall serve him.

领：塔尔史士和群岛的众王，将献上礼品，舍巴和色巴的君王，也都要前来进贡。众王都要崇拜他；万民都要事奉他。

 

R. Lord, every nation on earth will adore you.

【答】：上主，普世万民都来朝拜你。

 

For he shall rescue the poor when he cries out, and the afflicted when he has no one to help him. He shall have pity for the lowly and the poor; the lives of the poor he shall save.

领：他必拯救哀号的贫民，他必扶持无援的穷人。他将怜恤不幸和贫乏的群众，并要救护穷苦贫病者的生命。

 

R. Lord, every nation on earth will adore you.

【答】：上主，普世万民都来朝拜你。

 

Second Reading : Eph 3:2-3a, 5-6

读经二（外邦人都同为恩许的承继人。）

恭读圣保禄宗徒致厄弗所人书 3:2-3,5-6

 

Brothers and sisters: You have heard of the stewardship of God's grace that was given to me for your benefit, namely, that the mystery was made known to me by revelation.

弟兄姊妹们：想你们必听说过，天主为了你们，以恩宠赐与我的职分；就是藉著启示，使我得知他的奥秘；

 

It was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit:

这奥秘在以前的世代，没有告诉过任何人，现在却藉圣神，启示给他的圣宗徒和先知；

 

that the Gentiles are coheirs, members of the same body, and copartners in the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.

这奥秘就是：外邦人藉著福音，在基督耶稣内，与犹太人同为承继人，同为一身，同为恩许的分享人。

When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of King Herod, behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem,

当黑落德为王时，耶稣诞生在犹大的白冷。看，有贤士从东方来到耶路撒冷，

 

saying, "Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star at its rising and have come to do him homage."

说：“刚诞生的犹太人君王在那里？我们在东方见到了他的星，特来朝拜他。”

 

When King Herod heard this, he was greatly troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

黑落德王听见了，就惊慌起来；全耶路撒冷也同他一起惊慌。

 

Assembling all the chief priests and the scribes of the people, He inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.

黑落德王便召集了众司祭长和民间的经师，仔细考问他们：“默西亚应当生在那里？”

 

They said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it has been written through the prophet: And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;

他们对他说：“在犹大的白冷，因为先知曾这样记载：‘你犹大白冷啊！你在犹大的郡邑中，决不是最小的，因为将由你出来一位领袖；

 

since from you shall come a ruler, who is to shepherd my people Israel." Then Herod called the magi secretly and ascertained from them the time of the star's appearance.

他将牧养我的百姓以色列。’”于是，黑落德暗暗把贤士叫来，仔细询问他们那星出现的时间；

 

He sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and search diligently for the child. When you have found him, bring me word, that I too may go and do him homage."

然后打发他们往白冷去，说：“你们去仔细寻访那婴孩，几时找到了，就向我报告，好让我也去朝拜他。”

 

After their audience with the king they set out. And behold, the star that they had seen at its rising preceded them, until it came and stopped over the place where the child was.

贤士听了王的话，就走了。看，他们在东方所见的那星，走在他们前面，直至来到婴孩所在的地方，就停在上面。

 

They were overjoyed at seeing the star, and on entering the house they saw the child with Mary his mother. They prostrated themselves and did him homage.

他们一见到那星，极其高兴欢喜。他们走进屋里，看见婴孩和他的母亲玛利亚，就俯伏朝拜了那婴孩，

 

Then they opened their treasures and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

并打开自己的宝匣，给婴孩奉献了礼物，即黄金、乳香和没药。

 

And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed for their country by another way.

贤士在梦中得到指示，不要回到黑落德那里，就由另一条路，返回自己的地方。
